Manages the preparation and filing of financial reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and any other SEC reports that include financial information.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages financial filings with the SEC, including coordination with other departments within the Company (Legal and Investor Relations), the Company's SEC counsel and independent auditors.
  • Proactively develops, communicates and manages reporting timelines.
  • Manages the preparation of financial statements and footnotes and financial information presented throughout the SEC filings, including coordination with, and validation of data provided by, other departments.
  • Accounts for equity-based compensation, including monthly journal entries, valuations, and required disclosures.
  • Coordinates and documents the valuation of goodwill and any impairment recorded.
  • Coordinates the calculation and reporting of earnings per share.
  • Works with all levels of management to understand and present financial results and fluctuations between periods.
  • Monitors and analyzes GAAP and IFRS accounting guidance and summarizes the impact on accounting and financial reporting. Communicates the impact of pending guidance via written memos and presentations that may include senior leadership.
  • Performs research and presents conclusions in both written and verbal format.
  • Develops processes for implementation of accounting guidance together with Finance/Accounting management.
  • Performs additional accounting and reporting duties as requested by Finance/Accounting management.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and GAAP standards.
  • Identifies inconsistencies, errors, and/or issues and develops, and presents to management, a plan of action and/or conclusion.
  • Serves as a GAAP subject matter expert for accounting seniors and staff. Assists in implementation of GAAP changes and the recording of new or unusual transactions.
Education: Undergraduate degree in accounting, post-graduate degree in accounting preferred.
Experience: 5 years of financial and reporting experience, including a minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience. SEC reporting experience a must.
Licenses/Certifications: CPA certification required
Technical Skills/Requirements: General ledger software experience preferred, proficiency with Excel and Word is necessary.
