Ensures continued delivery of production services through identification and problem resolution in a client/server environment. Devises and modifies procedures to deliver complex business solutions considering capacity, system limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Analyzes and revises existing production logic and documentation as necessary. Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Directs compilation of records and reports concerning production. Advises on organizational, procedural, and work flow plans, methods, and procedures analysis. Analyzes the results of monitoring controls and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization.

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate with end users, other IT departments, and project teams in planning and executing the turnover of new jobs and changes to the production schedule.
  • Manage the scheduling, input/output controls, job setup, job execution, system monitoring, and problem resolution of production jobs on corporate data center Unix and/or Windows platforms.
  • Drives improvements to existing production processes to improve reliability, scalability and security of the processes.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and operate according to procedures, standards, guidelines, documentation, and controls.
  • Produces monthly management reports on production processes.
  • Develops short range plans for overall area activities.
  • Act in liaison capacity with other areas and business units related to key initiatives, operational issues, and service requests.
  • Resolve or coordinate resolution of all errors prior to changes being made to the production environments.
  • Identify, diagnose, report, and provide resolutions to technical problems with production control software and production batch cycles.
  • Supports software packages such as automated scheduling, to include maintenance, upgrades, installation, security setups, user setups, training and documentation.
  • Update and maintain documentation on Production Control processes and trains IT staff as required.
  • Promote teamwork and foster cooperation to meet Service Level Agreements and other departmental goals.
  • Keep informed of state of the art computer software developments and equipment through ongoing research.
  • Actively apply and advocate security and change management policies by identifying and addressing situations that are not in compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:Candidate Education:
  • Required A Bachelor's Degree in computer science
  • Required or equivalent work experience 2 additional years of experience in operations area with high volume production environment and distributed systems
Candidate Experience:
  • Required 2 years of experience in Using automated job scheduling tools
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in Operations area with high volume production environment and distributed systems
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in Healthcare Payer industry

  • Intermediate Ability to analyze information and covert related activities into a comprehensive work plan
