Drives the development and management of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Exchange products, including the identification, evaluation, design and roll-out of new product offerings and product enhancements. Works through the organization as a product champion to measure and optimize product performance.

Essential Functions
  • Directs the preparation of strategic analysis of potential business and/or operational opportunities, including geographic expansion and new products.
  • Gathers and analyzes product intelligence, including key competitors, market trends, and industry innovations.
  • Drives the benefit design/product development process in coordination with Actuarial Services, National Contracting/Ancillary, finance, local market leaders, and other identified business partners.
  • Responsible for ensuring comprehensive execution, monitoring and ongoing evaluation and continuous quality improvement of product.
  • Manages multiple product-related projects from end-to-end, including developing project plans, establishing deliverables and timelines, assigning responsibilities, facilitating meetings with impacted teams, holding team members accountable, providing status reports, removing barriers, acting as an escalation point, and ensuring goals and objectives are met and completed in a timely manner with high quality.
  • Promotes product information to cross-functional teams to ensure each impacted area understands how the product functions and any related nuances.
  • Supports cross functional teams with the necessary product knowledge and operational expertise to help achieve product-related goals for development, implementation, management, and growth of product.
  • Leads the development of training tools to support product design, regulatory filing, training, and execution.
  • Champions product performance excellence by actively monitoring products' performance, identifying issues and process improvements (financial, regulatory, and/or operational in nature) and working cross-functionally to assess impact, develop a remediation plan, and execute the plan.
  • Ensures the activities of the department are in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and all associates are trained and comply with the regulations.
  • Represents the team/department in cross-functional meetings and to external customers/business partners.
  • Provides product-related status reporting to management and stakeholders on a routine and ad-hoc basis.
  • Conducts product presentations to cross-functional teams.
  • Reviews and provides input on member and provider materials to ensure product-related content is accurate.
  • Prepares for/participates in internal and external audits as required.
  • Recruits, on-boards, and retains talent.
  • Provides leadership and oversight to critical initiatives that support the growth and profitability of the business.
  • Works with Product leaders to establish team goals and drive associates to successful attainment.
  • Manages associate performance by effectively communicating expectations, gaging performance and goal attainment, and providing regular feedback with recommendations for development.
  • Performs supervisory functions in manager's absence.
  • Drives product performance through identification, resolution and ongoing monitoring of key product metrics.
  • Performs other duties and special project as assigned.
Candidate Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Health Administration or related field; or equivalent work experience to include 2 additional years of experience in healthcare and/or health insurance
  • Preferred: Master's of Business Administration or Health Administration
Candidate Experience:
  • Required: 8 years of experience management, leading and/or supporting projects in the following areas: Benefit Design, Benefit Management and/or Administration, Strategic Planning, Marketing Management, and/or Project Management.
  • Required: 5 years of experience leading and/or managing others
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in Medicare Advantage and/or PDP
