The Senior Software Engineer is accountable for the implementation of, or complex changes to, information systems. Review user specifications/requirements in order to complete the technical design, technical documentation, programming, and testing of changes which have been assigned to them. Resolve complex issues and/or defects which may be reported as a result of faults in the production system. Participate and contribute to technical feasibility studies, business cases, proposals, and the assessment of 3rd party applications/products.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepares detailed functional specifications, design models, and system workflows from which software applications will be developed and implemented.
  • Assist in the design and development of enterprise systems making specific determinations about system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to requests for support in order to troubleshoot and/or maintain production systems.
  • Conducts system analysis and development, with limited support, to keep information systems current with changing technologies.
  • Responsible for analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs, and designing solutions to problematic programming.
  • Responsible for developing new programs and proofing the program to develop needed changes to assure production of a quality product.
  • Writes, edits, and debugs new computer programs for assigned projects, including necessary records and desired output.
  • Tests new or enhanced programs to ensure logic and syntax are correct.
  • Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level.
  • Responsible for planning, processing, and performing all jobs/tasks in an efficient manner with little assistance from supervisor.
  • Maintains WellCare IT development standards and best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Transfer knowledge to other members of the application development team.

Ideal candidate would have -

  • Solid experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite specifically Financials Modules - GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, iExpense with at least 4 full life cycle implementations and support in R12 environment
  • Strong Oracle EBS development experience in the Financials modules using the Oracle developer tools - PL/SQL, BI Publisher, Oracle Forms/Reports and Oracle Workflow Builder.

  • Strong development experience in RICEW components - Reports, Forms, Interfaces, Customization, Extensions, and Workflow. Proficient in working with seeded APIs and Interfaces.

  • Strong understanding of the EBS concepts and functionality in financials modules and integrations between modules.

  • Experience with Application Object library and System Administrator is a must.

  • Experience developing custom components using OAF and ADF workflow.

  • Proficiency with using PL/SQL Developer or similar.

  • Working knowledge of UNIX, Shell scripts

  • Design and deliver technical solutions to meet business requests following the SDLC process.

  • Experience with third party reporting tools like GL Wand/Reports Wand is a plus.

Candidate Education:
  • Required A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or like discipline
  • Required or equivalent work experience 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
Candidate Experience:
  • Required 5 years of experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite specifically Financials Modules - GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, iExpense with at least 4 full life cycle implementations and support in R12 environment
  • Preferred Other IT experience in a healthcare environment
