Supports the enterprise through the creation and management of content for contract procurement activities for new and existing markets. Develops, writes, edits and assembles high impact content, including executive summaries, for RFI/RFA/RFP responses by working within the business development team and across the organization through a variety of subject matter experts. In partnership with leadership, leverages in-depth experience to provide mentorship and assistance to business development team members.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops high impact content for proposals by conducting research and interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to generate and develop content; reviews and edits input from SMEs to generate content; and works with graphic designers to translate concepts into informative images.
  • Leads content development in a manner that helps WellCare achieve organizational growth goals and maintains a database of content articulating WellCare's capabilities and approaches to key programmatic requirements.
  • Uses personal experience and expertise to drive winning responses and strategy across the organization by staying up to date on competitive analysis and industry best-in-class offerings.
  • Identifies the appropriate information resources and prepares customized responses to respond to assigned RFI/RFA/RFP's accurately and comprehensively; including but not limited to ensuring responses are clear, current, and clinically accurate.
  • Creates proposal content that is factual and technically accurate, that speaks with a single and consistent voice, and is effectively structured and laid out for ease of reading and visual appeal. Incorporates compelling proof points (e.g. tables, diagrams, testimonials, references, etc.) that substantiate the key messages, and makes clear what differentiates us from the competition.
  • Partners with proposal development leadership, team leads and functional area SMEs to review and analyze RFIs/RFAs/RFPs to understand requirements and outline responses.
  • Leads SME interviews and other forms of interactions to understand WellCare's approach to individual requirements and develops messaging to articulate the approach with a focus on differentiators.
  • Offers mentorship and supports other writers and colleagues to review work and contributes effectively to review meetings to help enhance responses.
  • Performs proofing and editing and works with graphics and design to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Maintains business and technical knowledge of WellCare's products, programs, services, policies, and systems.
  • Proactively engages in continuous improvement to improve on written communication based on internal and external feedback.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:Candidate Education:
  • Required A Bachelor's Degree in Communications or journalism or a related field or in a highly specialized relevant area such as health care, public health administration or business administration
Candidate Experience:
  • Required 7 years of experience in Proposal writing, journalism, public relations or other communications or in a Medicaid or Managed Care environment or a similarly relevant environment with a proven ability to write and communicate effectively
  • Preferred Other Health Care, Medicaid and/or Managed Care
