The QI Program is comprehensive, systematic and continuous. It applies to all member demographic groups, care settings, and types of services afforded to Medicaid members; including special needs, behavioral health, Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) and Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP). The QI Program addresses the quality of clinical care and non-clinical aspects of service including MLTSS and DSNP that can be expected to have a beneficial effect on health outcomes, enrollee satisfaction, and enrollee choice in determining health care setting.
Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to: confidentiality, network adequacy, preventive health, service utilization, disease and case and care management, integration of behavioral and dental health, coordination/continuity of care, cultural competency, credentialing, DSNP (e.g. integration of services), MLTSS (e.g. self-direction, ability to choose care settings, maximize independence and support for caregivers), performance and quality improvement projects, quality improvement processes and procedures, home and community based services, and reporting requirements.
The intern will:
Provide support and project coordination for the quality improvement functional area .
Key Duties and Responsibilities
•Provides support for the quality improvement functional area.
•Assist on updating department policies/procedures.
•Assists and coordinates QI projects as needed.
•Assist in filing department files.
•Assists with preparation for meetings by typing agendas, attachments and minutes.
•Assist with communications to the appropriate staff.
•Assist with coordination of provider profiling activities.
•May assist with coordinating Policy and Procedure Committee meetings.
•Additional duties as assigned.
