We are looking to hire an intern for the Medical Economics Department.
The Medical Economics team helps drive overall financial performance by performing analysis of underlying Medical Expense trend drivers. Areas of emphasis would include overutilization of services, improper provider billing practices, and outlier provider contracts. Additionally, the team evaluates the financial performance of many internal programs designed to reduce redundancy of medical services, waste caused by poor quality care and unnecessary care that does not meet evidence based medicine guidelines.
The position offers the candidate the opportunity to work directly with me in a one on one basis and exposes them to assist a high performing team of analysts (as time allows).
This will also provide real world experience solving challenging problems using (and learning) advanced techniques for programs like Excel, SAS, and Tableau which likely are not learned in the same degree in an academic setting.
