The Hyperion Lead Administrator / Developer will serve as system owner and subject matter expert for the Hyperion EPM suite of tools. This includes management, configuration/development, and operations support of the Hyperion EPM suite of which expertise is required in Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Financial Reporting and Data Integration (FDMEE) along with high, working knowledge of Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management (HPCM), Financial Management (HFM), Data Relationship Manager (DRM) and Hyperion Close Suite. The candidate is accountable for full lifecycle development that entails the analysis, design and development of all Hyperion v11 components in addition to proactively identifying enhancement opportunities to the Hyperion suite as implemented. Understand, interpret and transform business problems, opportunities and requirements for recommending solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide assistance to team members with their daily work assignments and issue resolution to achieve the business needs.
  • Assist management with prioritizing work assignments.
  • Interact with the Internal Customers in resolving issues related to their specific areas.
  • Interact with customers, either IT or Business users, to determine requirements related to needs of third-party applications. Follow-up on customer satisfaction.
  • Review new releases, patches, hotfixes, and security bulletins from Software vendors.
  • Interact with other departments and teams to coordinate work activities needed to accomplish the goals for all requested work.
  • Ensure that all provided solutions meet business needs for reliability, performance, and security.
  • Lead the development and documentation of solutions in order to provide guidance to the leadership team.
  • Modify a third-party application, via coding or configuration, to ensure the requirements gathered for implementation/enhancement are met.
  • Ensure testing of any changes or modifications to third-party applications is performed.
  • Follow release management processes to promote modifications of third-party applications to production environments.
  • Respond to emergency issues that arise with the third-party applications, resolving the problem, determining the root cause of the issue and implementing preventative measures to keep the issue from reoccurring.
  • Perform routine and periodic patching and upgrades to third-party applications to ensure quality, security and support of these applications.
  • Coordinate activities with Network, Server and DBA groups to make necessary modifications to meet the requirements.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures for each third-party application.
  • Plan and participate in disaster recovery activities to ensure continued availability of the supported third-party applications.
  • Work with vendors of third-party applications to ensure adherence to best practices and policies to ensure optimum performance and stability of these applications.
  • Mentor team members through training and support with complex tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
    • Develops, implements, and maintains new Hyperion Planning applications, cubes, and process flows

    • Provides alternatives and recommendations based on best practices and Oracle Hyperion product suite features and functionalities (Hyperion Planning, Essbase, SmartView, FR, batch processing, etc.)

    • Ensures Production environment stability and performance are up to par and meet SLA agreements

    • Proactively build working relationships with the Finance and Accounting business units to deliver, maintain and enhance Hyperion functionality

    • Employs knowledge of Essbase to facilitate better deployment of Planning, application security and other interface tools

    • Provides timely response and resolution of emergency production questions, issues, and defects

    • Participates in requirements sessions and prepare detailed functional specifications, design models, and system workflows from which software applications will be developed and implemented

    • Develops test scenarios, test scripts and leads teams in unit, integration and acceptance testing

    • Facilitates Business end-user training and Help desk training as needed

    • Leads, mentors and assists software developers/engineers with technical Hyperion issues

    • Leads application development projects as assigned

Candidate Education:
  • Preferred A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or related field
Candidate Experience:
    • 5 years' experience developing Hyperion applications and acting as a design lead

    • Expertise in Essbase cube analysis, design and maintenance, Essbase database administration, upgrades, performance tuning and optimization.

    • Excellent technology skills related to full life cycle development with Hyperion EPM Suite (Planning, DRM, HFM, HPCM, DRM, FCM and FDMEE) in creating applications, managing the application security and administration.

    • 3 years' experience with HFM is required.

    • Must have built and implemented at least 3 full life cycle EPM suite implementations, upgrades and /or migrations involving - Planning, HPCM, HFM, FDMEE, DRM and Close Suite modules.

    • Experience with both Classic and EPMA methods of metadata management is highly preferred

    • Ability to write HFM rules files, develop data grids, financial reports, and utilize Smartview for Excel and Word.

    • ASO and BSO Essbase application development/configuration and support – Outlines, dimensions, measures, members, metadata administration with ability to design databases and complex calculations including MaxL scripting.

    • Integration of Hyperion applications with existing processes, including budgeting and forecasting, data warehouse and management reporting; Knowledge of Oracle EBS preferred

    • Understands dependencies and interrelationships between functional components of Hyperion Planning among forms, business rules, calculation scripts, variables and Essbase databases.

    • Experience with Essbase Excel add in, Smartview and FR reporting.

    • Working knowledge on Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting process and functions.

    • In-depth product knowledge with very strong business and technical expertise; problem solving/debugging skills.

    • Accounting knowledge a plus.
