Supports the external financial reporting process, including independent preparation of GAAP financial statements and other relevant SEC filings; assists with the preparation of financial reports and related materials distributed to senior management and the Audit Committee; and support the research, documentation and implementation efforts of technical accounting guidance for complex business issues and transactions.

Essential Functions:
  • Support the Quarterly SEC Filing Process by preparing relevant filings, including Annual Form 10-K, Quarterly Form 10-Q and other required filings. Prepare and review tie-out information for notes to the financial statements.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements and footnotes and financial information presented throughout the SEC filings, including coordination with, and validation of data provided by, other departments.
  • Manage the company's XBRL reporting and control framework.
  • Serve as primary business partner and liaison to external departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of SEC disclosures.
  • Lead the preparation of the reported consolidated statement of stockholders’ equity and consolidated statement of cash flows.
  • Independently research, document and communicate new GAAP and disclosure issues, as well as assist in the implementation of new relevant accounting pronouncements.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials distributed to senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Lead the accounting for equity-based compensation process, including monthly journal entries, valuations, and required disclosures.
  • Serve as primary contact for internal and external auditors for all areas of responsibility.
  • Independently coordinate the calculation and reporting of earnings per share.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual goodwill impairment testing.
  • Support the valuation process for acquired intangible assets, including documenting the process and relevant considerations.
  • Promote process and control owner responsibility and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Comply with all corporate policies, GAAP standards and statutory requirements, as required.
  • Proactively identify inconsistencies, errors, and/or issues and recommend actions/resolution to supervisor.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation and drive change for new processes and controls or improvements to existing processes and controls. Proactively identify and present proposed process improvements.
  • Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
    Candidate Education:
    • Required A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
    • Preferred A Master's Degree in a related field
    Candidate Experience:
    • Required 5 years of experience in Public or private sector accounting
    • Required Other Strong knowledge and experience in applying US GAAP
    • Required Other Experience with writing technical accounting memos
    • Preferred Other Public company SEC reporting experience
    • Preferred Other Experience in a managed care setting
    • Preferred Other General ledger software experience
    Candidate Skills:
    • Intermediate Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management
    • Intermediate Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Advanced Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
    • Advanced Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
    • Intermediate Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills
    • Intermediate Demonstrated written communication skills
    Licenses and Certifications:
    A license in one of the following is required:
    • Preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    Technical Skills:
    • Required Intermediate Microsoft Excel
    • Required Intermediate Other Ability to use computer applications effectively, especially financial systems, spreadsheets, and related graphics.
