Provides clinical/compliance related pharmacy direction for the health plan for clinical services with an emphasis on drug utilization review and evidence based medicine. Includes developing policy and procedures, working with and ensuring corporate compliance of assigned clinical services within pharmacy department, managing therapeutic class reviews, and managing clinical projects. Includes collaboration with multiple departments within pharmacy and corporate wide (i.e. product, IT, marketing). Includes participation on assigned corporate committee. Focuses on the development, maintenance, and regulatory requirements needed with the assigned service area. Disseminates education as necessary to business partners and members.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops, maintains, reviews and oversees federal and/or state requirements and reporting functions of assigned clinical projects.
  • Performs project management functions and works with appropriate individuals to ensure successful completion of clinical projects/initiatives in designated area.
  • Performs assigned clinical projects and participates in necessary presentations at corporate meetings. This may include chairing committee meetings as assigned in designated clinical area.
  • Implements and oversees clinical projects to manage assigned medication/disease states
  • Acts as a liaison between pharmacy and corporate compliance to ensures that all compliance related requirements are documented and develops CAPs if deficiency in assigned clinical processes as noted.
  • Attends department compliance meetings (as necessary) and develops work plans and process flows for clinical area.
  • Ensures policies and procedures in designated clinical area are reviewed, updated and presented to appropriate parties. This includes uploads to corporate site (C360) as assigned.
  • Works with corporate communications departments to ensure that all department area specific communications are updated and posted in a timely fashion. This includes initial drafting of clinical communications.
  • Provides necessary drug information, including drug utilization and evidence based medicine analysis for use within assigned clinical areas and as education tools across departments as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:Candidate Education:
  • Required A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Preferred A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Pharmacy
  • Preferred or equivalent work experience PGY-1 Residency Program completion
Candidate Experience:
  • Required 3 years of experience in a licensed pharmacist role
  • Preferred Other Experience in managed care
  • Preferred Other Experience in data analysis

  • Advanced Demonstrated project management skills
  • Intermediate Ability to work in a matrixed environment
  • Intermediate Ability to lead/manage others in a matrixed environment

Licenses and Certifications:
A license in one of the following is required:
  • Required Other Current unrestricted licensed pharmacist in state of operation
  • Preferred Other Board Certification (i.e. BCPS) or other designations (i.e. CGP)
Technical Skills:
  • Required Intermediate Microsoft Excel Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook
