Supports market assessment activities to identify and develop opportunities for growth and expansion. Researches opportunities for new and emerging business. Assesses the competitive landscape and market entry considerations to drive growth decisions. Analyzes clinical and operational results of the company and supports integration of performance metrics into RFP responses.

Essential Functions:
  • Gathers and analyzes economic, political, financial and industry data to assess health plan growth opportunities in targeted geographies with particular focus on Medicaid programs (e.g. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP), Aged Blind and Disabled (ABD), Managed Long-term Care program (MLTC), waivers, diversions, etc.) as well as Medicare, Dual SNPs and Healthcare reform opportunities.
  • May engage with and manage relationships and communications (both remotely and face-to-face) with key external stakeholders including; government representatives, state and federal agencies, business partners, and influencers.
  • Drafts and maintains market scorecards to provide on-going business development status and assessment information for senior leadership including supporting all levels of Stage Gate reviews (1-4).
  • Drafts, proofs and edits formal reports summarizing individual growth opportunities based on assessment activities indicating the nature of the opportunity, potential threats and keys to success.
  • For approved opportunities, continues proactive relationship and market development activities.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with business leaders including P&L owners, Government Affairs, Public Policy, Product, Program Implementations, Network Development, Legal and others in planning, management and support throughout the growth and business development lifecycle.
  • Attends national and state conferences and/or meetings as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:Candidate Education:
  • Required A Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Preferred A Master's Degree in a related field
Candidate Experience:
  • Required 4 years of experience in analyzing and reporting on key health care industry and individual company performance metrics
  • Required 2 years of experience in working with government programs, preferably in the healthcare and/or managed care arena
