Sr. Director Transformational Initiatives

The Transformational Initiatives leader is a graduate from a preferred Master level program invited to participate in this highly selective program aimed at developing WellCare's leadership bench by incorporating intensive experiential learning with targeted leadership development, exposure to and mentorship by Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members and the CEO via a carefully crafted and assigned strategic business initiative. Incumbent will report directly to a sponsoring ELT and will be charged with leading the successful implementation of a key project. Through this highly visible development program, the incumbent will have the opportunity to influence strategic organizational initiatives and work on meaningful assignments that drive our business success. Following the successful completion of a 12-18 month assignment, incumbents will be considered for an executive position within the enterprise's shared services or market businesses.

Essential Functions:
  • Drives, manages and implements a specific enterprise-wide transformational initiative over a 12-18 months period across multiple functional departments and states with high strategic importance to the organization.
  • Interacts closely with business leaders to carry out key projects to drive successful completion of tactical and strategic initiatives.
  • Through both direct and indirect management, leads towards the achievement of key deliverables of the strategic plan.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships with internal departments to develop and execute action items within action plans.
  • Leverages strong leadership skills by partnering with executives and associates in cross-functional areas to provide project management for implementation of key initiatives and driving critical projects.
  • Consults, influences and presents to senior management at various levels in and across a wide variety of functions.
  • Ensures the development of financial and operational tools take place to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of implemented initiatives.
  • Owns the change management and execution of business objectives through oversight and management of key stakeholders and owners.
  • Actively participates in targeted leadership develop curricula via both formal classroom training (including Situational Leadership and similar programs), mentorship and informal peer and executive networking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
    Candidate Education:
    • Required A Master's Degree in A Master's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent from an elite Master's program or preferred university
    Candidate Experience:
    • Required 7 years of experience in healthcare, consulting, banking, consumer product, or retail industry in either the customer experience or business process improvement discipline.
    • Required 4 years of experience in management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or strategic leadership in the healthcare sector
    • Required 2 years of management experience
    • Preferred 1 year of experience in Leading the strategic planning process
    • Required 1 year of experience in Proven executive level engagement experience at a fortune 500 company.
    • Preferred 1 year of experience in Reported to an Executive at a fortune 500 company
    • Required 1 year of experience in Proven experience working in a heavily matrixed environment.
