Software Engineer, Assoc

Under general supervision, the Associate Software Engineer reviews business requirements and information requests, existing programs, and file structures to complete the specified changes. As part of completing the work assigned, an Associate Software Engineer is responsible for the programming, testing (unit), and documentation of information systems.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides input into functional specifications, design models, and system workflows from which software applications will be developed and implemented.
  • Applies structured programming techniques, develops and maintains code, and adheres to documented coding standards.
  • Develops unit test plans for assigned applications, solutions or projects.
  • Fosters and maintains good working relationships with customers and colleagues to meet expected service levels.
  • Maintains WellCare Information Systems (IS) development standards and best practices.
  • Completes time estimates for assigned tasks
  • Assists in writing on-line help manuals, user manuals and FAQs for specific software projects.
  • Effectively convey updates and project status to peers and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
