Senior Project Manager, Legal

WellCare Legal is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the Legal team in a project management role. Scope of responsibilities will focus on supporting a national Legal team in managing complex projects and deliverables related to providing legal support in key areas such as due diligence, expansions and integrations of new businesses, contract updates, RFPs, significant HR initiatives and other major workstreams. Many of these projects involve multiple stakeholders across our matrixed, multi-state organization, so effective collaboration and communication skills are essential.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of direct experience leading special projects as a project manager or similar role in a fast-paced and growing organization. Outstanding organizational skills, strategic mindset and problem solving acumen are critical, as is the ability to develop understandable work plans and presentations around results/advice. Experience working in health insurance is a plus. Strong preference for the position to be located in Tampa.

This position will report to the Legal Operations team, with dotted line to the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, Litigation, Regulatory and Health Plan Operations.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as this individual will interact with senior business leaders, as well as excellent organizational skills and an efficiency mindset. Job responsibilities are expected to include the following:

  • Developing and executing with Legal team members and other stakeholders project management plans for key legal projects
  • Preparing presentations and other deliverables around legal advice
  • Supporting administrative work required to execute project plans

      Successful candidates should meet the following criteria:

      • 5 years of experience in a project assistant/management role in a complex, matrixed organization, with lead responsibility on projects
      • Preference for experience in, or familiarity with, health care/insurance business
      • Bachelor’s degree required
      • Training and/or certification on project management and/or operational efficiency
      • Excellent writing and communication skills
      • High solution-orientation and strong accountability for results
      • Extensive knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
      • Ability to deliver outstanding presentation materials
