Intern I - Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis

The Department’s focus is on the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) of WellCare’s various cost centers, to include management of each department’s respective budget, cost allocations, accruals, membership, P&Ls, etc. FP&A also helps prepare perspective business’ Pro Forma statements (i.e., manages SG&A corporate and field/ health plan estimates), as well as builds relationships with area leaders, in order to foster a One Team approach.


Essential Functions:

  • Participate on work teams, contribute to projects and initiatives, and perform various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department
  • Perform analytical work within the assigned functional area
  • Perform research and prepare reports on assigned topics and /or projects
  • May create or update systems or databases for specific department needs
  • Work with departments and/or vendors to gather information needed for various projects
  • Present project results to department personnel or management
  • Become familiar with and utilize the applications used by FP&A in performing their day to day job responsibilities (i.e., Hyperion, Excel, etc.)

  • Learn/Perform Monthly Close Job Responsibilities

Candidate Education:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student in a college program with course work related to the internship with a minimum 3.0 GPA or Pass ratings.
