Intern I - Finance, Field Finance

In this position, you will engage in financial analysis work including evaluating multifaceted financial information, preparing reports indicating trends, and provide recommendations to management. You will work closely with executives, users, peers and other stakeholders to build business requirements necessary for timely, accurate, and efficient solutions that will improve decision making and support critical business strategies.

Learn to query and summarize data in a meaningful way. Automate reports currently run on an ad-hoc basis. Gain understanding of government health care programs.
Essential Functions:
  • Conducts research and analysis to provide definitive financial data and advice for use in administering specific programs and processes
  • Participates in the creation of new internal processes and analytical reports to improve information resources
  • Learn how to work cross-functionally with subject matter experts and other business partners
  • Develop ad-hoc reports to conduct data analysis and validation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Examples of Potential Projects:
  • Evaluate revenue kicker process
  • Improve the tracking of SG&A to budget
  • Evaluate return on investments of initiatives
  • Set up process for large claim review
  • Assist with provider settlements evaluations
  • Evaluate claims recovery process for possible improvements
  • Create tracking tool for physician unit cost changes from budget
  • Create tracking tool for hospital unit cost changes from budget
  • Assist in the creation of financials presentations like Board of Directors deck
    Candidate Education:
    • Required Other Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student in a college program with course work related to the internship with a minimum 3.0 GPA or Pass ratings.

    • Required No Experience
