Intern I - Finance, Corporate Development

WellCare’s corporate development group owns and implements the company’s M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) growth strategy. The responsibilities of the group include; analyzing market intelligence, managing the acquisition evaluation process, and executing the company’s M&A transactions.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist corp development team members in the transaction execution process from initial evaluation and modeling through diligence/more refined modeling and ultimately purchase agreement execution
  • Assist in development of financial statement models for potential acquisition or similar investment opportunities.
  • Participate in diligence efforts for potential acquisition transactions, including preparing, compiling, and summarizing insights on competitive analysis, risk, and business implications of M&A research and analysis for the senior leadership.
  • Prepare material to inform stakeholders of industry/market news that could have an impact on M&A activity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Candidate Education:
    • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student in a college program with major or coursework in finance, accounting and/or economics with a minimum 3.0 GPA or Pass ratings.
    Candidate Experience:
    • Required No Experience

    Requires someone with a strong desire to learn, excellent attention to detail and enjoys an ever-changing, fast-paced work environment.

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong Excel modeling skills and basic understanding of financial statements
