Director, Talent Acquisition

Provides strategic direction and oversight to teams within the Talent Acquisition Department. Develops and executes innovative, responsive, efficient and appropriate initiatives that are aligned with the broader Talent Acquisition goals and objectives. Drives operational processes and procedures that support key metrics and key performance indicators, including but not limited to 1) recruiting 2) branding 3) sourcing and proactive pipelining 4) college & MBA recruiting 5) interviewing & background procedures 6) department process improvement initiatives 7) reporting 8) expansion and growth initiatives and 8) vendor management. Drives new approaches to Talent Acquisition function and leverages expertise in deploying innovative strategies to meet the dynamic and evolving market demands.

Department: Human Resources / Talent Acquisition

Scope: Leads team of 10 FTEs focused on TA Operations, Innovation, Sourcing, Technology, and College Recruiting. Manages vendor relationship for outsourced operations, (i.e., interview scheduling, background checks, onboarding).

Essential Functions:

  • Plans, conducts and directs work on complex projects and programs necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches.
  • Provides recommendations and consults with business leaders on Human Resources and Talent Acquisition strategies.
  • Ensures that Talent Acquisition goals are in alignment with company objectives. Ensures initiatives are implemented to achieve optimum results.
  • Partners with other departments and/or vendors to resolve problems and issues.
  • Provides direction and recommends solutions for complex employee relations issues, (using internal resources as appropriate).
  • Drives operational efficiency by providing guidance to team members, hiring managers and internal associates / candidates regarding employment policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a consultant to business partners and stakeholders relative to recruitment, and ensures internal and external partners are aware of compliance requirements.
  • Models, communicates and implements the Talent Acquisition vision.
  • Leads activities relative to vendor management and vendor performance, to include adherence to SLAs and overall contract obligations.
  • Leads activities relative to department performance, to include adherence to SLAs and key performance indicators.
  • Leverages technology, tools and applications to support efficient and staffing processes.
  • Drives continuous improvement relative to recruiting capability to include passive pipelining and referral campaigns.
  • Conducts market trend analysis regarding competitor status, cost of living, talent pool availability and recent merger / acquisitions activity. Builds networks and relationships to drive and support recruiting needs.
  • Supports operational priorities and manages resources to goals and budgets. Monitors budget for adherence.
  • Manages, mentors and trains a team of Talent Acquisition professionals. Manages personnel issues and processes (where applicable), including performance management, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Leads department projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Drives department processes and procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains effective partnerships with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Education:
  • Required A Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications, human resources or a related field or equivalent work experience directly related to the essential functions and responsibilities of the position
  • Preferred A Master's Degree in business, marketing, communications, human resources, or a related field
Candidate Experience:
  • Required 8 years of experience in a Human Resources generalist capacity
  • Required 3 years of management experience
  • Required 4 years of experience in specialized recruitment, staffing, and/or RPO staffing experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Required 1 year of experience in a corporate Talent Acquisition environment
  • Required Other Solid background in marketing/sourcing techniques, including cold calling, networking, research, database management
  • Required Other Experience in laws related to FCRA, pre-adverse and adverse action
  • Preferred Other Experience in a Managed Healthcare environment
