Director Local Marketing

Leads and implements the WellCare Corporate approved marketing strategy and planning of all community-based marketing, including "Neighborhood Meetings", grassroots events, provider-based marketing, and community relationships designed to drive new business/market share and promote reputation and consumer activation in the market. Develops and implements brand awareness programs for the market an oversees creative development of all collateral materials including those intended for prospects and providers. Serves as strategic liaison between provider network and sales to drive provider education meetings, grass roots marketing campaigns and lunch and learns.

Essential Functions:
  • Builds key relationships in market to facilitate success on both local and state levels.
  • Develops and executes marketing strategy to support marketing and advertising initiatives that not only differentiate WellCare plans locally but also increase membership and build share.
  • Leverages local market knowledge, such as data; competitive intelligence; market analytics; environmental analysis; and advertising to develop best practices to enhance local marketing, membership, growth, acquisition, retention and branding.
  • Acts as the Market's creative force in the development and delivery of all new marketing concepts, campaigns and programs (both acquisition as well as member communication).
  • Responsible for partnership provider marketing from development of marketing plans, funding and management.
  • Collaborates with marketing communications as market based primary point of contact and ensures clear and adhered to processes for planning, prioritizing, creating, approving, producing fulfilling and archiving created materials.
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with key physician leaders and office staff. Develops and executes customized provider marketing plans working in conjunction with Provider Relations.
  • Oversees and manages the grassroots/local marketing budget to ensure effective ROI results.
  • Develops event programs that are compliant and trains those conducting events to offer the best opportunity to promote our Medicare Advantage products.
  • Ensures the activities of the department are in compliance with all applicable regulations and the terms of all state and federal contracts, and that all staff are trained and comply with the regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:
    Candidate Education:
    • Required A Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Health Management, Business, or related field
    • Preferred A Master's Degree in a related field
    Candidate Experience:
    • Required 7 years of management experience Leading strategy and implementation of multi-channel communications campaigns
    • Required 5 years of experience in Managing external relationships (e.g., physician, vendor, community organization, etc.) communications, provider relations, and/or direct, on-line, and mass media marketing
    • Required 4 years of experience in Managing health care marketing within Medicare/Medicaid programs
