DevOps Manager

The Infrastructure Systems Engineer provides leadership, operational management, and administrative support for the Infrastructure engineering team, and acts as a liaison to management and/or associates in other IT and business areas.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides leadership and oversight for design, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and support for TCP/IP local and wide-area networks using Cisco and other industry standard equipment and practices
  • Provides leadership and oversight for design, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and support for Sun Solaris, Linux, and/or Windows 2000 server configurations
  • Provides leadership and oversight for design, documentation, planning, implementation, monitoring, and support for Unix and Windows based network services, applications, and databases
  • Provides leadership and oversight for design, documentation, planning, implementation, monitoring, and support for enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Ensures that all provided technology services and solutions meet business needs for reliability, performance, and security
  • Responds to second level alerts or emergency issues within 30 minutes during normal business hours and when on-call
  • Ensures the DBA team’s work is done in accordance with standard Information Technology policies, processes, and procedures or as directed by IT management
  • Reviews new technologies against business requirements to identify opportunities for process, performance, reliability, or data management, storage or backup improvements and to identify opportunities to reduce costs

Ideal Candidates MUST Have -

•Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting tools installed on UNIX, Linux and Windows based environments.

•Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks.

•Experience with application development software tools, and able to work with developers on these tools and their processes.

•Experience with code quality tools and release automation tools.

•Understanding of various IT architectures (n-tier, client/server, etc.).

•Experience with working on large and complex IT and business projects.

•Working knowledge of Project and Software Development Life-Cycle.

Experience with managing a team of 8-10 engineers

•Experience with managing the installing, configuring and maintaining of DevOps related tools (Jenkins, Fortify, Sonarqube, CA Release Automation, Kubernetes, Docker, etc).

•Experience with contributing and adhering to the DevOps strategy.

•Works in close collaboration with Infrastructure, Application Development, and QA teams in delivery of business requests.

•Reviews new technologies against business requirements to identify opportunities for process, performance, reliability, data management or other environment strategy improvements and to identify opportunities to reduce costs.

•Solid understanding of Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in information systems or information technology or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong strategic and operational knowledge in network or systems design, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and support as demonstrated by no less than 5 years experience working in Information Technology in management, project management, or other leadership roles as well as technical roles with no less than three of the following technologies
    • TCP/IP network design, implementation, administration, and support
    • Windows Server, Exchange Server, and Windows networks design, implementation, administration, and support
    • Sun Solaris system design, implementation, and administration
    • Enterprise storage or backup design, implementation, administration and support
    • Network service, application, and database design, implementation, administration, and support
    • Network management and/or security
  • At least one of the following certifications are required — more than one certification or advanced certifications, preferred
    • Standard Certifications
      • CCNA, CCDA, Cisco Security
      • MCSA 2000 or 2003
      • Citrix CCA
      • Network
    • Advanced Certifications
      • CCNP, CCDP
      • Citrix CCEA or CCIA
      • MCSE 2000 or 2003
      • Solaris 8.x or 9.x System Administrator
  • Additional certifications in network or systems design, implementation, or diagnostics or in any of the following areas, preferred
    • Internet Technologies and Routing (e.g. Web, IIS, Apache, BGP)
    • Firewalls and Network Security (e.g. Cisco PIX, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning)
    • Authentication Security (e.g. smartcards, tokens, biometrics)
    • Remote Access and VPNs
    • Network Management and Diagnostics (e.g. HP Openview, Sniffer)
    • Database Administration (e.g. MCSD, Oracle)
    • Enterprise Network Storage (e.g. SAN, NAS, Mirroring, Clustering)
    • Veritas Enterprise Storage and Backup Management Products
Computer Skills:
  • Type 25 words a minute for data and configuration entry
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook,Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Project
